Adala Prabhakar Reddy, who has been named the candidate from Nellore Rural assembly constituency, suddenly walked away from campaigning on Friday and joined YSRC on Saturday.
Along with Adala Prabhakar, former Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Kurnool MP Butta Renuka, former Gudur MLA B Durga Prasad, and former MLA from Pithapuram Vanga Geeta also joined the YSRC.
Former minister Konatala Ramakrishna also met YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy, but said after the meeting that he’s not joining the party.
Adala’s defection comes as surprise as he had been actively campaigning for the party till Friday afternoon.
Nellore TDP has called an emergency meeting to find a replacement. Adala is likely to be fielded as MP candidate from Nellore.
