Theodore Karl Quijano made the Filipino proud once again as he will be graduating with honors from the prestigious US Air Force Academy in Colorado. The Filipino from Dipolog City he saw an opportunity to fulfill his childhood dream by competing for a slot in the USAFA.
The opportunity came during a time when he studied at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City. During his stint at the US Air Force Academy, he soared high, achieving feats that should make Filipinos proud.
He was given command of Cadet Squadron 10 last Fall after being (–foul word(s) removed–)igned as Cadet Wing Chief of Standardization and Evaluation. His position is one of the highest in the USAFA, managing over 4,000 people during the Summer year.
Theodore Karl Quijano is part of the graduating cl(–foul word(s) removed–) of 2013, he marches with honors at Falcon Field this coming Wednesday. Quijano belongs to the Superintendent’s overall excellence and Dean’s Academic excellence list.
The Filipino pride will also receive the Outstanding Basic Cadet Award from the Academy’s Commandant for finishing first in the cl(–foul word(s) removed–) of 1,300 cadets for military excellence.

Yahoo! Southeast Asia Newsroom - Theodore Karl Quijano, who was born and raised in Dipolog City, will graduate with high distinction from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
While others let go of burdens in an attempt to fly, it was by taking on more challenges that a young Filipino cadet soared from the shadow he had been under.
Once content with watching planes from the airport near his Dipolog City home, Theodore Karl Quijano is set to fly planes himself as he graduates next week from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
"It wasn't part of the plan," Quijano said of his application at the U.S. military school where he will be only the 16th Filipino to graduate since 1956.
"An opportunity presented itself. So I grabbed it," he added in an online interview with Yahoo! Southeast Asia.
Quijano, the eldest of seven siblings, had earlier spent three years as a chemical engineering student at the University of the Philippines in Quezon City.
He left the state university and eventually enrolled at the Philippine Military Academy, where he had the assurance of free tuition and a stipend. He was in his second year when he learned about exams for the U.S. Service Academies.
