Catalyst Inc. is a global nonprofit founded by feminist writer and advocate Felice Schwartz in 1962. Schwartz also served as Catalyst's president for 31 years.
Catalyst's stated mission is to "accelerate progress for women through workplace inclusion." Recent topics of focus include: board diversity; gender, race and ethnicity; inclusive cultures; LGBTQ; men and equality; the gender pay gap; sexual harassment; and unconscious bias. Nancy H. Brownrigg Newman 70, of Beverly passed away at 12:18 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at her home. She was born May 6, 1941 in Morgan County the daughter of the late Loren L. Brownrigg and Josephine Gorrell Brownrigg. She was a Nurses Aid and an Insurance agent and a 1959 Graduate of M&M High School.She is survived by two daughters, Angela D. Newman and husband Robert F. Dietterick of Huddleston, Virginia and Crystal Clemens of Stockport, two sons, Greg Clemens of Roseville and Richard G. Newman of Beverly; three grandchildren, Corey (Elizabeth) Snyder , Heaven (Jesse) Parsons and Charles Lane Reese Sheppard; five great grandchildren, Hanna Snyder, Jenna Snyder and Chloe Snyder and Colt and Rayleigh Parsons; four sisters, Betty Harris of Tennessee, Alice Huck of Pataskala, Ilene Lang of Lowell and Dorothy Gheen of McConnelsville; one brother, Lyle Brownrigg of Zanesville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers Frederick, Earl, Wayne and Ralph Brownrigg. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday and burial will follow in the Waterford Cemetery.
