    Shmuel "Sam" Vaknin (born April 21, 1961) is an Israeli writer and professor of psychology and business studies.[1][2] He is the author of Malignant Self Love: Narcissism Revisited (1999), was the last editor-in-chief of the now-defunct political news website Global Politician, and runs a private website about narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).[3][4]

    Vaknin was born in Kiryat Yam, Israel, the eldest of five children born to Sephardi Jewish immigrants. Vaknin's mother was from Turkey, and his father, a construction worker, was from Morocco. He describes a difficult childhood, in which he writes that his parents "were ill-equipped to deal with normal children, let alone the gifted".[6]

    He left home to serve in the Israel Defense Forces from 1979 to 1982 in training and education units. Between 1980 and 1983 he founded a chain of computerized information kiosks in Tel Aviv, and in 1982 worked for the Nessim D. Gaon Group in Geneva, Paris, and New York City.

    Shmuel "Shmulik" Greenberg (born 22 December 1975) is the mayor of Beit Shemesh. He was previously the director of the Haredi Education Department in the Jerusalem Municipality, acting and deputy mayor of Beit Shemesh on behalf of the Degel HaTorah party.

    Biography

    Greenberg was born and raised in Rekhasim. He studied at the Tashbar Rekhasim Elementary School and Talmud Torah Torat Emet in Haifa and later at the Kfar Hasidim Yeshiva. He served in Unit 995 in the IDF.[1]

    Greenberg is a graduate of the Ono Academic College in law and holds a master's degree in public policy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.[2] In addition, he holds a teaching certificate, is a graduate of a mediation course, and is a graduate of the Mandel Institute's Management and Leadership Program.

    After his marriage, he moved to Panama for about a year for a teaching mission in the country's Jewish community. From there, he moved to the city of Beit Shemesh, where he worked as a teacher and director of educational institutions.
